I love everything Eric Carle. I loved him before we had to do an Author Study each year. The kids love him. The possibilities are endless. Who am I trying to convince here?
I have an awesome Eric Carle pack and each year, I have added to it. No promises, but those are the facts.
I just made some fun additions a few days ago, but you can see those later. For now, check out something that would go great with my pack, but is just so simple, we don’t need to include it.
I quickly cut out bodies, wings, and black paper. I then draw ten circles, during small group, onto the black pieces of paper. It’s worth the prep, trust me.
The hardest part of this whole thing is when each kid tries to come up with a combination of ten and has to cut out the ten circles. Both of the aforementioned make me want to quit teaching, but I also know how important it is for the kids to learn perseverance and gain better fine motor skills. So, I’ll stay in the profession. . . for now.
I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
You end up with the funniest, grouchiest looking lady bugs, and the math integration piece is priceless. It’s a win-win, just do it.
Here are some of the new additions to this resource:
Here is just a taste of what’s in this pack- I literally just printed this for our upcoming unit.
