We had so much fun today with one of my favorite fall activities. . .
Pumpkin Math and Science!
I have done this at desks, in small groups, and even outside. Today, I was running short on time, so we whole-grouped this bad boy and it still turned out adorable.
First, we draw a picture of our pumpkin and then we each get a chance to hold it.
We then decide whether it’s heavy or light- the boys always proclaim that it’s light. Haha!
After moving through our 5 senses, I give the kids a tiny handful of seeds. If it’s too large, they lose track of the number.
This activity look so great when hung up in the hallway and your principal/parents WILL be pleased!
Have students help you to remove all of the seeds at the end. Take the seeds home and rinse thoroughly.
I bake at 350° for about 15 minutes.
Bring them to your kiddos the following day to taste a few.
I love science!
