My great-grandmother was Mrs. Leeby. She had a knack for business before it was cool for any woman to have a mind of her own. Mrs. Leeby and my great-grandfather owned a natural foods store before it was cool to eat natural foods. So, these wonderful relatives of mine were ahead of their time and deeply respected within the community, and now I’m proudly, though inadvertently, keeping our family name alive.
When I started this blog, it was over my lunch break, on a whim. My thought process was to begin with a fake name for privacy reasons (hence, my great-grandma) and I would change it later. After a few months of blogging and TPTing, I thought that it was too late to make any adjustments. Years later, I’ve created a brand and identity in this beautiful, online community of educators. With all of the pins, posts and products that I have out there, Mrs. Leeby has passed the point of no return.
So, here I am, call me what you will because I respond to pretty much any version of “teacher.”
